Today the addition was framed and the basement wall doorway was knocked out. There was alot of activity here again today and good progress was made. They tarped over the entire frame for the coming rain so the photos have a purple haze to them.
A few things that need to be fixed:
One window in the master bedroom is not in the correct location. The windows should be about a foot off of the walls and symmetrically spaced.
The bathroom toilet door is framed at 36" and really only needs to be 24" especially since the bathroom is miniature.
The bathroom window above the vanity also appears to be framed incorrectly. It is supposed to be at the top of the wall near the ceiling, but the header is located here.
I marked out the locations of the window and door that we want to add in the closet and let the contractor know about it since it wasn't on the original plans.
The way the tarp was installed, the rainwater from the gutter would have poured into the new framing. We tried to fix it as much as possible without ripping out nails. We are still concerned that the existing framing will get wet, but with how much existing framing that is exposed, it is pretty much unavoidable.
Lots of photos from today!
