Roofing Replacement Day One

Today they started stripping the existing shingles off of the roof.  They got most of it stripped but not all of it. The dumpster never arrived and there are shingles strewn everywhere all over the lawn and back.

The new shingles were delivered as well as the paper.  They are supposed to install tomorrow.  Never thought I would say this about a roof, but I am excited to see what it looks like when it is done!

I asked them to cut a new ridge vent in the existing roof.  We would like to be able to get rid of the noisy attic fan we have.

It is going to be so much easier to sweep the chimney now that the roof is higher where the chimney is, due to tying in the new roof to the old roof!
